‘Get a restraining order’: TikToker films man’s meltdown after she doesn’t want to talk to him

A video of a man having a meltdown and insisting the person filming speak with him has gone viral on TikTok.

The video, shared by TikTok influencer @emilyxviolet to her 34,000 followers on Wednesday, shows a man getting out of his car to come and speak with her. He knocks on her window, asking her to "please talk with him."

It is then that the man in the video says that the woman filming makes him want to kill himself before heading back to his car—and punching it—before getting in.

@emilyxviolet said this man was her partner, and the situation in the video escalated from a picnic date gone wrong.

The video has 1.9 million likes on TikTok, and 31,800 comments there as well. On Reddit, where the video was shared to r/PublicFreakout, it gained 2,200 upvotes and 294 comments.

"I did just want to post it to share a little bit about my story and also as a warning to anybody who might come in contact with him," @emilyxviolet said in her video. "I wasn't the first person he did this to, I unfortunately probably will not be the last."

In a series of follow-up videos, she alleged that what viewers saw in the video was a symptom of a mental health problem. She used the hashtags "narcissistic" and "narcissistsurvivor," though the Daily Dot was unable to reach the man in the video independently.

She asked that her 34,000 followers not send him any kind of threats or messages. It appears that any commenters who shared his personal information had their comments deleted.

"Hey guys, I just got off work so I'll be posting some more videos in a little bit, I just want to jump on here real quick and say to anybody who is sending death threats to him, please don't," @emilyxviolet said. "It's just really not cool. I wasn't going to post any type of his personal information online for that reason and apparently it has gotten out."

Another follow-up video shows Emily sharing responses that she has apparently gotten from other women involved with this man, who said they had had similar experiences.

On her Instagram account, which is the same username as her TikTok, Emily shared the video on her story, as well as a post letting people know that she was available to talk if they had gone through similar experiences.

"Gonna go on and put a big ole TW on my next post but I'm posting it as a warning to others and also to create an open door to me," @emilyxviolet wrote. "Anyone who has ever suffered any type of abuse. You are not alone. And these things get better. And there are people around you who care and will help you in any way they can. I don't care who you are or if we've never spoken. Please reach out to me if you need help in any way."
