A man’s alleged sexual assault on a Twitch streamer was caught on her live stream during her trip to Thailand.
Twitch streamer @awkwards_travel, who was identified only as Tallulah by her partner, was filming a live stream as she walked down the street. Tallulah’s partner Gaspard told the Daily Dot that the original video was taken down, and the one available online was posted by another user @DanijelSbl who shared it under the title "fcking weirdo.”
“This guy approached her while she was streaming and grabbed her by the arm," Gaspard told the Daily Dot. "She asked him to leave and at first, he did.”
However, the man snuck up on her in just a few seconds and “groped her from behind," Gaspard said.
In the clip, which is less than a minute long, Tallulah says, “Don’t touch me please, oh my God!”
A few seconds later, the man is seen behind her, holding a plastic bag. At first, he walks toward her and then begins to run.
“Walking fast,” Tallulah says, apparently unaware of her attacker behind her.
He closes in on her and bends down and gropes her. “Stop it!” she screams, throwing her arm around to escape him.
He runs away, but Tallulah is left visibly distraught.
She looks around before continuing to walk and breathing heavily. She then breaks down in front of the camera.
“I’m OK, I’m OK,” she says, possibly in response to comments coming in through the video. The comments were not visible in the clipped version.
“It was a really scary event and Tallulah is pretty shocked, but she also really want[s] to make it clear that this could have happened anywhere,” Gaspard told the Daily Dot. “This has nothing to do with her being a solo traveler.”
Tallulah is currently traveling in Thailand on her own due to COVID-19 restrictions. She and Gaspard have been traveling and streaming as a couple for five years, he said, and out of the 40 countries they traveled to, Thailand is the place they felt safest in, Gaspard said.
This was the first such incident in their travels, he added.
In September, another Twitch streamer was assaulted while live streaming her travels in Japan.
