‘I hit a woman’: Viral TikTok proposal catches man hilariously confessing to hit-and-run

proposal hit and run tiktok viral video savannah georgia

A Savannah, Georgia couple captured a special moment in their lives—their wedding proposal in a park—only to have a man walk by and apparently confess to a hit-and-run accident.

The video comes from TikToker @kpohlman2, and it's racked up nearly 9 million views in its first two days on the platform.

The video starts with the TikToker and her boyfriend-turned-fiance with their dog in a park, reveling in the realization that they're going to be married. Indeed, her caption reads, "Thank God we were done with the proposal," adding the Face with Tears of Joy emoji and the ring emoji to round out the thought.

As the person filming captures the couple embracing on the park's brick pathway, a man enters the picture announcing, "I got shit-faced drunk," then clarifying, "And I was driving."

Then, he summarizes the rest of his story as he walks past the couple and toward the person recording the pivotal moment in their lives.

"I hit a woman," he said flatly, while walking around the couple and giving them a bit of side-eye.

Then, considering, he offered, "Or somebody dressed like a woman."

Then, after a beat, he added, "I'm not sure; I didn't stop."

The video concludes with the man walking out of the frame, and the couple laughing, presumably at the absurdity of it all.

TikTokers delighted in the video, with one commenter exclaiming, "He is the DEFINITION of unbothered."

Another cheekily suggested, "Play this video at your wedding, the full thing, don't leave anything out."

And yet another observed, "He looked at y'all like you were interrupting his story."

While at least one person suggested he be invited to the wedding, another predicted that they'd see each other again in a different sort of public gathering.

"Congrats!" the commenter exulted. "You're going to be a witness in a trial one day."

As of press time, it remains unclear whether the unidentified man in the TikTok was speaking seriously or was joking. We've reached out to the couple.
